Why do I coach? I enjoy helping people problem solve and build self-confidence.

I am a non-profit executive leader and nationally recognized activist, educator, and community organizer on Transgender rights, LGBT health issues, and LGBT partner abuse. I have written articles for the Boston Phoenix, Bay Windows newspaper, What’s Up magazine, Sojourner Women’s Forum, and “Agitate and Activate” the introduction to Pinned Down by Pronouns, the 2003 Lambda Literary nominee anthology. I am also a co-author on the study and the 2012 article in the American Journal of Public Health entitled “Transgender Health in Massachusetts: Results From a Household Probability Sample of Adults.”

In 2011, after a 5 year campaign, the Massachusetts legislature passed the Transgender Equal Rights bill, this legislative campaign was led by the Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition under my direction while I served as the executive director.

I have also been creating and producing community arts and entertainment events for the last 10 years, including Gender Crash Open Mic and a pop-up art show entitled, Undivided: Dewey Square Pop-up Art Show – Inspired by Occupy Boston/Occupy Wall St.
In addition to my social justice activism, I am also passionate about saving wild lions from extinction and captivity including advocating for lions to be added to the Endangered Species Act in order to stop the rapid decline of lions.
